A delegation from the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC), led by Regional Humanitarian Diplomacy and Liaison Officer Laurean R. Bwanakunu, visited Lesotho on Tuesday.
The delegation met with Foreign Minister Lejone Mpotjoana at the Qhobosheanneg Government Complex. Their primary purpose was to seek legal recognition for the IFRC within Lesotho.
The IFRC, the world’s largest humanitarian network with over 16 million volunteers and 191 member countries, also extended an invitation to King Letsie III. They hope the King will be the guest of honor at their upcoming General Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, this October.
