The U.S. Embassy in Maseru shines a light on Mrs. Mannana Phalatse, CEO of the Millennium Challenge Account-Lesotho II Authority (MCA-Lesotho II), in recognition of Women’s History Month.
Phalatse brings a wealth of experience to the table. Her career began at the Lesotho Revenue Authority (now Revenue Services Lesotho) in 2003. Following that, she served as an economic specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Maseru, demonstrating her commitment to fostering economic ties.
Her expertise extends beyond government institutions. Phalatse played a key role at the Lesotho Millennium Development Agency (LMDA) and the Ministry of Development Planning, contributing to the development of national economic strategies. She also held the position of Head of Division for Reserves Management and Market Operations at the Central Bank of Lesotho.
Phalatse’s academic credentials are equally impressive. She holds a Master’s degree in International Trade and Development Policy, an Honors Degree in Financial Economics and Banking, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Statistics. This well-rounded background equips her with a deep understanding of strategy, planning, policy, and project execution.
