Abu Dhabi, UAE – March 6, 2024 – The presidents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sierra Leone met today, charting a course for a stronger relationship between the two nations. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Julius Maada Bio, President of Sierra Leone, held talks focused on boosting economic cooperation, trade, and investment.
The high-level meeting, held at Qasr Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi, also saw discussions on regional and global issues of mutual interest. Both leaders explored ways to deepen bilateral cooperation and drive sustainable development, prosperity, and stability for their citizens.
President Sheikh Mohamed reiterated the UAE’s strategic focus on strengthening ties with African nations, seeking opportunities for mutually beneficial progress. President Bio expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s support for Sierra Leone and pledged his commitment to fostering closer collaboration across various sectors.
The meeting was attended by a distinguished gathering, including UAE dignitaries such as Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. Other prominent figures included ministers, sheikhs, senior officials, and guests.
