ABU DHABI, UAE – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and China have launched a new strategic police dialogue to strengthen cooperation in combatting cross-border crime, cybercrime, and organized crime. The initiative was announced during a meeting between H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Wang Xiaohong, State Counselor and Minister of Public Security of China.
The two ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations, particularly in security and law enforcement. They agreed to deepen ties and broaden the exchange of experiences and knowledge in tackling major criminal threats. The strategic dialogue will allow police forces from both countries to collaborate on best practices, training, and information sharing.
“The launch of this strategic police dialogue marks a significant step forward in our cooperation with China,” stated Sheikh Saif. “Together, we can more effectively address the challenges of cross-border crime and ensure the safety and security of our citizens.”
Minister Wang echoed the sentiment, highlighting the importance of joint efforts in maintaining regional stability. “Cooperation in law enforcement is crucial in today’s world,” he said. “This dialogue will create a strong foundation for combating crime and promoting peace and security.”
The meeting saw participation from high-ranking officials from both sides, including Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and Xiu Da Tong, Deputy Minister of Public Security of China.
