Georgetown, Guyana – Guyana’s Foreign Minister, Hugh Hilton Todd, joined an informal Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) meeting today, alongside Kenya, to receive an update on the Multinational Security Support Mission to Haiti.
The meeting, chaired by Jamaica’s Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson Smith, served as a crucial step ahead of the January 5th gathering of CARICOM leaders and the Eminent Persons Group, where Haiti’s future will be discussed.
Minister Todd reaffirmed Guyana’s unwavering support for the Haiti mission, emphasizing the need for regional cooperation to address the ongoing crisis. He also seized the opportunity to brief his CARICOM colleagues on the latest developments regarding the Argyle Agreement between Guyana and Venezuela, a landmark accord aimed at resolving the long-standing border dispute.
