Nairobi, Kenya – December 13, 2023 – Marking a significant shift in its national approach, Kenya is preparing to roll out the red carpet for tourists, investors, and those seeking to learn from the country’s democratic and social successes. This ambitious initiative, scheduled to launch in January 2024, was announced by Hon. Musalia W. Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs, during the recent 60th Jamhuri Day celebrations.
“In January 2024, Kenya will open its doors,” declared Mudavadi, commending the vision of President William Ruto for this groundbreaking move. “This is not just about tourism or investment,” he emphasized, “it’s about sharing our best practices in democracy, governance, and the very fabric of our social interaction.”
The announcement has sparked a flurry of activity across government ministries as they prepare for the influx of visitors. The implementation of a streamlined visa process and the development of digital platforms for visitor identification are just a few of the initiatives underway.
Mudavadi’s unwavering support for the President’s vision was evident in his address. “I strongly support the President as we welcome all and sundry to Kenya; the cradle of mankind,” he declared, echoing the nation’s warm embrace.
