Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (December 6, 2023) – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, formally received His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, today in Abu Dhabi. This state visit marks a significant moment in bilateral relations between the two nations.
Upon President Putin’s arrival, an official ceremony unfolded at Qasr Al Watan, featuring a procession of Arabian horses, a guard of honor inspection, and the performance of both national anthems. The ceremony culminated in a 21-gun salute and a breathtaking flypast by the UAE Air Force aerobatics team, Al Fursan, displaying the colors of the Russian flag.
Emirati Air Force jets escorted the Russian President’s plane as it entered UAE airspace, further demonstrating the importance placed on this visit.
Joining President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in welcoming President Putin were high-ranking UAE officials, including H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Additionally, a delegation of Russian ministers and officials accompanied President Putin on his visit.
