Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa Bid Farewell

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA – In a heartwarming display of camaraderie and appreciation, the Nigerian community in South Africa gathered on Saturday, November 11, 2023, to bid farewell to their esteemed High Commissioner, His Excellency Amb. Muhammed H. Manta, and his Deputy, His Excellency Amb. Gideon Yohanna.

Hosted by the Consul General of Nigeria in South Africa, His Excellency Mr. Andrew Idi, at his residence in Johannesburg, the send-off party served as a fitting tribute to two exceptional diplomats who have tirelessly represented Nigeria’s interests in South Africa.

In his heartfelt address, High Commissioner Manta expressed his gratitude to Consul General Idi for organizing the event and took the opportunity to commend the Nigerian community for their outstanding contributions to South Africa. He encouraged them to continue striving for excellence and to proudly represent their homeland abroad.

Echoing the High Commissioner’s sentiments, Deputy High Commissioner Yohanna also extended his appreciation to Consul General Idi for the recognition and lauded the Nigerian community for their unwavering commitment to fostering a strong and vibrant diaspora. He urged them to remain steadfast in their endeavors to contribute to the development of both Nigeria and South Africa.

The send-off party attracted a remarkable turnout, with representatives from the Nigerian government, diplomatic missions, and the South African community gracing the occasion. The atmosphere was one of immense admiration and gratitude for the exemplary service of High Commissioner Manta and Deputy High Commissioner Yohanna.

As their diplomatic tenure in South Africa draws to a close, the Nigerian community bids fond farewell to these exceptional diplomats, acknowledging their unwavering dedication and significant contributions to strengthening the ties between Nigeria and South Africa. Their legacies will undoubtedly continue to inspire and motivate the Nigerian diaspora in South Africa for years to come.
