The ECOWAS Agricultural Trade Project (EAT) has underscored the immense possibilities for trade within the ECOWAS Region at the recent SARA 23 agricultural fair, the largest of its kind in West Africa.

The EAT booth became a central hub for those seeking lucrative business opportunities in the region, with chambers of commerce from Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Benin, and Nigeria offering insights into local regulations and market entry strategies. SMEs from these nations seized the chance to establish connections with suppliers, distributors, and even sign contracts.

The event was also honored with the visit of Mr. Alain Sy Traoré, ECOWAS Director of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The EAT project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
