Cape Town has been named the seventh best city in the world in the 2023 Reader’s Choice Awards by Condé Nast Traveller. This is the fourth time in the past five years that Cape Town has been ranked among the top 10 cities in the world.
Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth and Tourism, attributed the city’s success to its natural beauty, diverse culture, and rich history. He also praised the hard work of city officials who are working to make Cape Town the best city on earth.
Vos said that tourism in Cape Town is at its highest since 2019, with about 217 international flights landing per week. He added that the city’s tourism safety unit is working to ensure that visitors feel safe and comfortable while visiting Cape Town.
