The U.S. Embassy in Eswatini has recently celebrated the successful completion of another community project, made possible through the Ambassador’s Self-Help Program. Sight of Hope, a non-profit organization based in Ekuthuleni, Shiselweni region, has renovated a community center, constructed a new netball and volleyball court, and installed two pit latrines with the help of a $9,000 (E137,000) grant from the program, as well as contributions from the community.
During the official handover ceremony of the project, U.S. Embassy Officer Ann Newton expressed admiration for organizations like Sight of Hope that work collaboratively with communities to create facilities that improve the lives of Emaswati. The presence of the renovated center not only fosters community unity but also provides much-needed support to a community in desperate need.
Sight of Hope is dedicated to supporting girls who have been victims of sexual exploitation and offers skills training to surrounding communities. The organization’s collaboration with the community in realizing this project showcases their commitment to making a positive impact.
