Lagos, Nigeria – In line with India’s G20 Presidency in 2023 and its commitment to environmental sustainability, the Consulate General of India in Lagos organized a remarkable Mega Beach Cleaning and Awareness Initiative. This global initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation and cleanliness.

On Saturday, May 21, 2023, at 9 am, the Mega Beach Clean Up awareness program commenced with great enthusiasm. Participants from various walks of life gathered at the designated beach, ready to contribute their efforts to this significant environmental cause.

The initiative drew attention to the pressing issue of beach pollution and its adverse effects on marine ecosystems. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and determination, volunteers embarked on a collective mission to clean the shoreline and remove debris that had accumulated over time.

The Consulate General of India played a pivotal role in organizing and coordinating the event, ensuring a smooth and impactful execution. By spearheading this initiative, India’s G20 Presidency highlighted the urgency of environmental conservation and demonstrated its commitment to promoting sustainable practices globally.
