According to a report by Sky News on Saturday, three British men, including Miles Routledge, a “danger tourist,” are being held in Taliban custody in Afghanistan.
Kevin Cornwell, a charity medic, and another British national who manages a hotel in Kabul, were also among the detainees, the report said.
In a statement to Reuters, a spokesperson for Britain’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) said that they are working to secure consular contact with British nationals detained in Afghanistan and are providing support to their families, but did not confirm the specifics of the detained individuals.
Routledge has garnered fame, and also criticism, for visiting hazardous countries and sharing his experiences online.
