Accra, Ghana – Ghana’s inaugural Inclusive Business (IB) and Inclusive Green Business (IGB) Forum gathered over 80 key stakeholders in Accra to promote sustainable, inclusive business practices across the country. Organized by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) through the Support to the Private and Financial Sector (PFS) program, the event centered on strategies to foster equitable and green growth.

The forum highlighted financing mechanisms aimed at lowering risks for local businesses and introduced a social innovation fund to attract investment in sustainable ventures. Organizers set a goal for 40% of all IB and IGB businesses in Ghana to be led by women by 2026, aiming to advance women’s roles in Ghana’s green economy.

Key partners, including the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), the Ghana Enterprises Agency, and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, played pivotal roles in the forum’s organization. Their collaboration underscores Ghana’s ongoing commitment to supporting private sector innovation in sustainability.

Participants exchanged insights on overcoming challenges in sustainable business practices.
