Lusaka, Zambia – Zambian Foreign Minister Mulambo Haimbe met with Chinese Charge d’Affaires Wang Sheng on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral relations and coordinate preparations for the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit.
The two officials discussed a wide range of issues, including peace and security, the reform of the United Nations Security Council, and mutual support for international positions. Zambia and China are also gearing up to commemorate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
The FOCAC summit, scheduled for September in Beijing, will be preceded by senior officials and ministerial meetings. Both countries are keen to leverage the platform to deepen cooperation in various sectors.
