Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian government has repatriated 190 Nigerians who were previously living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The returnees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on July 16th at approximately 5:47 am.
A combined team of government officials, including representatives from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), the Ministry of Health, Nigeria Immigration Service, and other relevant agencies, were present to receive the returnees.
The returnees went through a profiling and documentation process. Additionally, they received guidance on responsible behavior and reintegration upon returning to Nigeria.
The Nigerian government used this opportunity to call on all Nigerians abroad to act as positive representatives of their country. They emphasized the importance of upholding values like patriotism, respect for the law, decency, and integrity.
