Manchester City cemented their place in the history books by securing a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title on the final day of the season. Pep Guardiola’s men, dubbed a “winning machine” by pundits, defeated West Ham 3-1 to extend their unbeaten home run to a staggering 44 games across all competitions.

The victory pushed City two points clear of fierce rivals Arsenal, who secured a consolation win against Everton. Midfielder Phil Foden, who bagged a brace in the match, perfectly captured the emotions of the moment: “We’ve put ourselves in the history books. No team has ever done it… It’s such a special feeling to share it with the fans.”

Foden opened the scoring within two minutes, followed by another goal before halftime. Rodri added the third to solidify City’s dominance and secure Foden’s sixth Premier League title with his boyhood club. “I’ll never get bored of it,” Foden declared. “I want this feeling every time.”

Guardiola, whose contract runs until 2025, reiterated his commitment to the club, expressing his admiration for Arsenal’s relentless pursuit. “We get the message,” he said. “They will be there for many years… But today is a day to celebrate.”

This title win marks Guardiola’s third time clinching the trophy on the final day, further solidifying his legacy as a tactical genius. He joins the prestigious company of Sir Alex Ferguson, George Ramsay, and Bob Paisley as managers with six English top-flight titles.

“Pep Guardiola has designed a style of football that is being copied not just around this country, but all around Europe,” lauded Gary Neville. “Most of all he is a winning machine that instils that in everybody who works with him.”

Micah Richards echoed the sentiment, calling City’s achievement “ridiculous and unbelievable,” while Rio Ferdinand commended their mental strength. “It’s hard to explain how difficult that is,” he said. “The daily pressure to get up and go again is a relentless pursuit of elite performance.”

The City squad shared their elation with the captain, Kyle Walker, highlighting the significance of the narrow margin: “It was down to just one game… We get past that, then we make history.”

Kevin De Bruyne echoed the sentiment, stating, “It feels just as amazing as the first one.” Bernardo Silva emphasized the team’s resilience: “The margins are so small… We’ve been lucky enough to have these small margins to be in front of them. The achievement is unbelievable. Four in a row. We are so, so proud and so, so happy.”

Erling Haaland, the club’s marquee signing, expressed his confidence: “After we beat Spurs we kind of knew we were going to do it.”
