Hon. Nancy Tembo, Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, received in audience His Excellency Mr. Elias Zimba, High Commissioner of the Republic of Mozambique, on October 17, 2023.
The farewell visit marked the end of High Commissioner Zimba’s tour of duty in Malawi. During his tenure, Malawi and Mozambique have significantly strengthened their bilateral ties.
One notable highlight of the strengthened relationship is the inauguration of the Nacala Corridor project. The project is a major infrastructure development that is expected to boost trade and investment between the two countries.
In addition to the Nacala Corridor, Malawi and Mozambique have also cooperated on a number of other issues, including security, immigration, and tourism.
During the farewell meeting, Minister Tembo and High Commissioner Zimba expressed their commitment to further strengthening the ties between Malawi and Mozambique.
