Six new envoys presented their letters of credence to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House in Accra on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
The new envoys are Ambassador David Kabre of Burkina Faso, Ambassador Rose Liliana Gómez Cárdenas de Weston of Peru, High Commissioner Daniel Mahongo of Zambia, Ambassador Julio Amaury Justo Duarte of the Dominican Republic, Ambassador Kittisak Klomchit of Thailand, and High Commissioner Andrew Wilson of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
In his remarks, President Akufo-Addo congratulated the new envoys on their appointment and pledged the government’s support in the discharge of their duties. He also expressed Ghana’s readiness to explore new areas of cooperation with their respective countries.
The new envoys, in their turn, assured the President of their commitment to deepening relations with Ghana in areas of mutual interest.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, and other senior government officials.
