Riga, Latvia – President Edgars Rinkēvičs presented the letter of credence to Edgars Bondars on August 17, 2023, appointing him as the next Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to the Republic of Moldova.

Bondars has held a number of diplomatic positions during his career, including posts at the Consular Legal Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Organizations Division, and the First Bilateral Relations Department. He also chaired the Secretariat for the Preparation of the Three Seas Initiative Summit from 2021 to 2023.

Bondars has been posted to the Latvian embassies in the United States, Russia, and the Czech Republic. He has also represented Latvia’s interests as Ambassador to Uzbekistan and Poland, and as non-resident Ambassador to Tajikistan, Bulgaria, and Romania.
