In an interview with TASS, Nikolay Korchunov, the Russian Foreign Ministry ambassador-at-large, revealed that Russia is intensifying its Arctic-related engagements with partner countries in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS group (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). Korchunov highlighted the active development of bilateral projects focusing on scientific research, logistics, environmental protection, and maritime cooperation in the Arctic domain.
Furthermore, discussions are underway regarding potential energy initiatives involving countries with relevant expertise and interests. However, Korchunov expressed regret that the specifics of these dialogues cannot be divulged due to the persistent sanctions pressure on Russia.
