Samsung Electronics has rolled out a new update enabling users in Nigeria to navigate selected Galaxy smartphones in Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba — three of the country’s most widely spoken indigenous languages.
The update, which went live this week, is available on the Galaxy S25, A26, A36, and A56 models. Users can access the feature by going to Settings > Language & Input > Select Language on their devices.
The move aims to make digital interaction more accessible to Nigerians who are more comfortable using their native languages than English. Speaking on the update, Stephen Okwara, Head of Product Management at Samsung Electronics West Africa, noted that the addition of local languages improves usability, promotes digital literacy, and encourages deeper engagement with technology among more users.
Customers interested in experiencing the new feature can visit any Samsung Experience Store or authorized retail outlet across Nigeria.
