Maseru, Mar. 24 – Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, the outgoing President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), will visit Lesotho from Sunday to Tuesday for a series of farewell meetings as his term comes to an end. The visit, at the invitation of King Letsie III, is set to include discussions with top government officials, including the King and the Prime Minister.
Dr. Adesina is visiting Lesotho in his capacity as the African Union (AU) Nutrition Champion. During his trip, he will meet with the country’s Minister of Finance and Development Planning, the Minister of Health, and the Minister of Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition to discuss the nation’s progress on key nutrition initiatives.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane, emphasized the significance of the visit, pointing out that Lesotho, as a member of the AU, is closely linked with AfDB initiatives.
