The Ambassador-Designate of the Slovak Republic to the Kingdom of Lesotho, His Excellency Vladimir GrΆcz, visited Lesotho from March 11 to 13, 2025, focusing on strengthening humanitarian cooperation. His visit included a stop at the St. Cecilia Orphanage in Berea, a Slovak-supported initiative founded by St. Elizabeth in Slovakia.
GrΆcz, an experienced diplomat, began his career with Slovakia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986 in the Department of Latin America. Over the years, he held key positions, including Director for the European Union Department and the Office of the Secretary-General. His extensive diplomatic postings have taken him to Monaco, Costa Rica, Panama, Argentina, and Spain. Between 2015 and 2018, he represented Slovakia as its Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Before assuming his new role, he served as Director of the Diplomatic Academy at Slovakia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
Diplomatic relations between Lesotho and Slovakia operate on a non-residential basis. Slovakia’s ambassador to Lesotho is based in Pretoria, South Africa, while Lesotho’s diplomatic affairs with Slovakia are managed from Rome, Italy.
