Lesotho’s former Ambassador to Italy, H.E. Thesele Maseribane, held a key briefing with Ambassador-Designate H.E. Lebeko Sello at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations on March 10, 2025. The discussions centered on maintaining diplomatic momentum with Italy and strengthening engagement with UN Rome-based agencies, including the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and the World Food Programme (WFP).

With His Majesty King Letsie III serving as FAO’s Nutrition Goodwill Ambassador, the meeting also addressed Lesotho’s commitments to food security, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture. The country continues to benefit from IFAD13, which supports rural development and smallholder farmers, driving agricultural transformation.

Both envoys exchanged insights on sustaining key initiatives and ensuring ongoing projects contribute to economic growth and food security.
