The European Union participated in the Reflection Conference on Democratic Elections in West Africa through its Electoral Support and Governance Programme (#EPSG). The event featured former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Professor Attahiru Muhammadu Jega, former Chairman of INEC Nigeria, and served as a platform to assess the progress and challenges in electoral processes across the region.
The EU expressed appreciation for its Ambassador’s leadership in promoting democratic values and strengthening partnerships in development cooperation. The union reaffirmed its commitment to bringing together stakeholders and facilitating dialogue to support efforts aimed at strengthening democratic governance in the region.
