Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has launched a new employment and skills development initiative in partnership with King’s Trust International (KTI) to tackle unemployment in the state. The official launch, held on February 26, 2025, is part of ongoing efforts to support residents through job creation and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The programme, driven by the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), is designed to equip Lagosians with skills, funding access, and business support. It focuses on skill acquisition and enterprise development to enhance workforce readiness and provide career paths for residents.
Governor Sanwo-Olu said the administration is committed to fostering economic growth by ensuring small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and aspiring entrepreneurs have the resources to thrive. He noted that the collaboration with KTI strengthens the state’s ability to offer targeted training programs aligned with labor market demands.
The LSETF has been providing financial support and vocational training to Lagosians, and this latest initiative reinforces the government’s efforts to bridge the unemployment gap.
