Hon. Sheillah Chikomo represented Zimbabwe at the celebration of His Majesty, the Emperor of Japan’s birthday this afternoon. In her remarks, she spoke of Zimbabwe’s longstanding partnership with Japan, marked by cooperation in agriculture, education, and infrastructure development. As the country moves towards its Vision 2030 goal of becoming an Upper Middle-Income Society, Chikomo expressed gratitude for Japan’s continued support, particularly in key infrastructure projects, such as the rehabilitation of major highways, including the Hellgate section in Makuti, and efforts in agriculture aimed at strengthening food security and economic resilience.
