Simon Madjie has been named Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), succeeding Bernice Makafui Brempong just two weeks after her appointment. His selection has been acknowledged by the African Trade Chamber (ATC), which sees him as a strong advocate for investment and economic growth in Africa.
Madjie, a key member of the ATC’s Steering Committee, has been instrumental in improving investment frameworks and strengthening stakeholder relationships across the continent. His work in economic development and private sector engagement has earned him a reputation as a leader in Ghana’s business environment.
At GIPC, Madjie is expected to focus on attracting both local and foreign investments to boost economic growth and job creation. His appointment comes as Ghana seeks to position itself as a competitive investment hub in West Africa, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, technology, and renewable energy.
Ebenezer Adamitey, Director-General of the ATC Headquarters in Accra, commended Madjie’s leadership and experience in Africa’s investment sector. “His contributions to the ATC have helped shape policies that drive private sector growth. We believe his leadership will bring new direction to the GIPC,” Adamitey said.
