Eswatini Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has joined African leaders at the opening of the Extraordinary Summit of AU Heads of State and Government in Kampala, Uganda, focusing on the Post-Malabo Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP).
The summit, under the theme “Sustainable and Resilient Agrifood Systems for a Healthy and Prosperous Africa,” is expected to endorse the draft Kampala Declaration. This declaration will serve as a guiding vision for transforming Africa’s agrifood systems from 2026 to 2035.

The event will also endorse a 10-year Strategy and Action Plan to outline steps for achieving the goals set forth in the Declaration. Prime Minister Dlamini is expected to make a statement on behalf of Eswatini later this afternoon.
Also attending the summit are Eswatini’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Pholile Shakantu; Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Mandla Tshawuka; Minister of Labour and Social Security, Hon. Phila Buthelezi; and Eswatini’s High Commissioner to Uganda, H.E. Mahlaba Mamba.
