ACCRA, Jan 8 – Ghana’s annual inflation rate climbed to 23.8% in December, up from 23.0% in November, marking the fourth consecutive monthly increase, according to the Ghana Statistical Service.
Government Statistician Samuel Kobina Annim attributed the rise to higher food prices, describing it as the highest inflation rate in eight months and the third-highest in the last 13 months.
Ghana, a major producer of gold and cocoa, continues to face a severe economic crisis, exacerbating cost-of-living challenges for citizens.
