The U.S. Embassy in Maseru held a meeting today with Mandela Washington Fellowship alumni Malesaoana Mohale and Refiloehape Sesinyi, alongside Aanu Omoleye, a Deaf Nigerian woman currently interning with the National Association of the Deaf – Lesotho (NADL).
During the meeting, the group discussed potential collaborations between the Embassy and local partners to support Basotho individuals with disabilities. Aanu and Malesaoana first met during Malesaoana’s Mandela Washington Fellowship at Gallaudet University, which facilitated Aanu’s internship with NADL.
After completing her internship, Aanu plans to begin her PhD studies at the University of Massachusetts.
