Paris, December 13, 2024 – Trinity International, a leading law firm specializing in emerging markets, has announced the addition of Jérôme Le Berre as a tax law partner at its Paris office, effective January 1, 2025. With over 20 years of experience advising on tax and customs matters in Francophone and Anglophone Africa, Le Berre brings significant expertise to the firm, particularly in the energy and natural resources sectors.

Le Berre’s career has focused on assisting international clients with the tax and regulatory complexities of investing in Africa, particularly in the extractive industries. His appointment strengthens Trinity’s ability to provide comprehensive legal and tax advisory services, establishing the firm as a one-stop solution for clients navigating Africa’s energy and mining sectors.

The firm’s extractive practice has expanded significantly since the arrival of partners Stéphane Brabant and Lucien Bou Chaaya in 2021. Amid increasing scrutiny on operators in Africa, particularly through tax and customs audits, Le Berre’s expertise is expected to help clients navigate these challenges effectively.

“Jérôme has an exceptional ability to demystify complex issues,” said Bou Chaaya. “His understanding of African contexts and his diplomatic approach make him an indispensable partner in high-stakes negotiations. Having worked with him on numerous complex cases, this collaboration feels like a natural progression.”

Le Berre expressed his enthusiasm for joining Trinity, citing the firm’s commitment to emerging markets and alignment with his own values and vision. “Trinity’s reputation for handling the strategic demands of the natural resources sector in Francophone Africa is unparalleled,” he stated.

Trinity International, which operates from offices in London, Paris, Washington, and Singapore, comprises 60 lawyers specializing in project development, financing, corporate law, and arbitration. Le Berre will join the Paris team of over 20 Francophone lawyers, further enhancing its ability to support clients throughout the lifecycle of their projects.
