President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed a new chairman and executive directors for the South East Development Commission (SEDC), replacing several key positions on the board. Dr. Emeka Nworgu is named the new chairman, succeeding Hon. Emeka Atuma.
The president also overhauled the executive director positions, with Stanley Ohajuruka appointed as the new executive director of finance, taking over from Anthony Ugbo. Toby Okechukwu replaces Obinna Obiekweihe as the executive director of projects, while Chief Sylvester Okonkwo is appointed executive director of corporate services, replacing Dr. Daniel Ikechukwu Ugwuja.
In addition, Chidi Echeazu and Dr. Clifford Ogbede have been nominated as executive directors without specific portfolios. The reshuffle led to the removal of Donatus Eyinnah Nwankpa from the board.
Hon. Mark C. Okoye remains the Managing Director/CEO of the commission, retaining his position on the 16-member board, which has been expanded from its previous size. Several existing board members, including Barr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah and Hon. Okey Ezenwa, retain their roles.
All nominations are now subject to Senate confirmation.
