Accra, Ghana — President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Thursday, November 7, 2024, received the Letters of Credence from nine newly appointed diplomatic envoys during a ceremony at the Jubilee House.
The diplomats included H.E. Mrs. Mariana Gonçalves Madiera, Ambassador of Brazil; H.E. Mr. Ángel Lossada Torres-Quevedo, Ambassador of Spain; H.E. Mrs. Juliette Bynoe-Sutherland, High Commissioner of Barbados; and H.E. Mr. Roey Gilad, Ambassador of Israel. Others were H.E. Mr. Khalid Jabr Saif Al-Mosallam, Ambassador of Qatar; H.E. Very Reverend Monsignor Julien Kabore, Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See; H.E. Ms. Myriam Montrat, High Commissioner of Canada; H.E. Mr. Jürgen Heissel, Ambassador of Austria; and H.E. Mr. Gaston Gakosso, Ambassador of the Republic of Congo.
During the ceremony, President Akufo-Addo congratulated the envoys and reflected on the longstanding ties between Ghana and their countries. He expressed hope that these relationships would grow stronger during their tenure and reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and adhering to international protocols.
The envoys expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to strengthen bilateral relations with Ghana. They also committed to supporting the country in its efforts to achieve sustainable development goals.
