Abuja, Nov 9 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Sunday for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the upcoming Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, which will address the escalating Middle East crisis. The summit, set to begin on Monday, November 11, 2024, is hosted by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, following last year’s meeting in Riyadh.
During the summit, President Tinubu plans to address the ongoing Israel-Palestinian conflict, expressing Nigeria’s firm call for an immediate ceasefire and a peaceful resolution. Nigeria will also advocate for a revived two-state solution as a foundation for lasting peace in the region.
Joining the President’s delegation are key officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris, and Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Ambassador Mohammed Mohammed.
President Tinubu is scheduled to return to Abuja after the summit concludes.
