Midrand, South Africa – The Fourth Ordinary Session of the Sixth Parliament of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) convened on [date] under the theme “Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century.” The session aims to address the critical role of education in Africa’s development and to ensure that educational systems are resilient and inclusive.
PAP President, Chief Fortune Charumbira, called on African legislators to strengthen their oversight role in implementing Africa’s Agenda 2063. He emphasized the need for accountability and decisive action to achieve the continent’s development goals.
The session will also involve the various committees of the PAP, which are working to address regional challenges and support the African Union’s vision.
South African Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Anna Thandi Moraka, welcomed delegates and reaffirmed South Africa’s commitment to Pan-African cooperation. She emphasized the importance of collective efforts to improve African education systems.
Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, delivered a keynote address, highlighting the potential for strategic partnerships between Africa and Belarus, particularly in the field of education.
The PAP also welcomed newly elected members, who will contribute fresh perspectives to the institution.
