Johannesburg, South Africa – October 20, 2024 – The Airlines Association of Southern Africa (AASA) has re-elected Ms. Lulu Rasebotsa as its Chairperson for the next 12 months. The announcement was made at the organization’s 54th Annual General Meeting.
Prof. John Lamola, Interim CEO of South African Airways, has been appointed as the Deputy Chairperson. Together, Rasebotsa and Lamola will provide leadership and guidance to AASA in its advocacy efforts to promote competitive, affordable, and sustainable air transport in the region.
The annual general assembly was hosted by FlySafair in Paarl, South Africa, and was attended by over 200 delegates representing various stakeholders in the aviation industry.
AASA, established in 1970, represents the interests of airlines in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. The organization works to influence government policies, regulations, and standards that impact the aviation industry.
