Ghana Seeks to Boost Trade Ties with Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand – A Ghanaian delegation led by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Ampratwum-Sarpong, has concluded successful meetings in Thailand aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries.

During their visit, the Ghanaian delegation met with representatives of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), led by Vice Chairman Mr. Asi Thansathit. Discussions focused on potential areas of collaboration, including agro-processing, high-value manufacturing, textiles, and automotive development.

The Ghanaian delegation, which included the Deputy CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Kate Abbeo, highlighted Ghana’s competitive advantages in these sectors. They showcased the country’s rich resource base and the potential for value addition.

Yofi Grant, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), presented investment opportunities in Ghana. He underscored the country’s strategic position as a gateway to the African market and its openness to foreign investment and innovation. Grant expressed optimism about the potential for Ghana and Thailand to maximize the benefits of these partnerships, inviting participants to “Grow in Ghana, Grow with Ghana.”

The visit to Thailand follows successful engagements in Vietnam, where the Ghanaian delegation explored similar opportunities for trade and investment cooperation.
