Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary, Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, has met with members of the Former and Retired Ambassadors Association of Kenya (FRAA) at his Railways office to discuss their involvement in the country’s foreign policy matters.
Led by Amb. Boaz K. Mbaya, the Interim Chairman of FRAA, the former diplomats called for collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs. They proposed preserving key aspects of Kenya’s diplomatic history, dating back to independence in 1963, and asked for inclusion in ongoing foreign policy discussions, citing their extensive experience in international relations.
Dr. Mudavadi, who also serves as the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, acknowledged the diplomats’ concerns and promised to develop mechanisms that would allow the Ministry to benefit from their expertise.
Principal Secretary Korir Sing’Oei confirmed that efforts were underway to establish a Liaison Office for the former ambassadors.
