Beijing, China – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing today, marking a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
In a joint statement released following the meeting, the leaders agreed to establish a high-level community to promote development, stability, and security in the West African sub-region. They also signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) covering areas such as the Belt and Road Initiative and the peaceful application of nuclear energy.
President Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to economic reforms and creating a favorable business environment for Chinese investors. He expressed confidence that the strengthened partnership would bring mutual benefits and drive development across the African continent.
President Xi Jinping echoed Tinubu’s sentiments, highlighting the importance of unity and cooperation between China and Nigeria. He noted that the two countries are on a path to achieving collective strength through win-win partnerships.
