Durban, South Africa – My Beauty Expo (MBE) 2024, a key event in the global beauty industry calendar, has been postponed just days before it was set to begin. Originally scheduled for August 23-25, 2024, at the Durban Exhibition Centre (DEC), the event will now take place from September 27-29, 2024, at the Olive Convention Centre.

The sudden change follows the unexpected withdrawal of the eThekwini Municipality as the official venue sponsor. The decision, which was communicated to the organizers via WhatsApp on August 19, 2024, by Mr. Lihle Phewa, Deputy Manager of the municipality, has forced a last-minute relocation and rescheduling of the event.

Participants, including stakeholders, sponsors, exhibitors, and visitors, have been advised to halt all preparations for the original dates. The postponement has caused disruptions, but the new dates and venue are expected to accommodate the event’s objectives fully.

My Beauty Expo 2024 was set to be a major platform for industry professionals to network, forge business deals, and showcase the latest beauty trends. Despite the unforeseen circumstances, the event remains poised to bring together key international and African leaders in the beauty sector, fostering trade, product discovery, and knowledge sharing.

Margaret Mouton, Managing Director of MBE, expressed regret over the postponement, noting that the decision was beyond the control of the organizers. Mouton reassured participants that the event would proceed as planned at the new venue, with all the features that make it a pivotal event for the beauty industry.

The expo will continue to offer a wide range of attractions, including cosmetics, hair care, natural and organic products, and specialized zones for Halal and Bumiputera cosmetics. Additionally, the event will host workshops, seminars, fashion shows, and the Science & Technology Pavilion, which will showcase cutting-edge innovations in the industry.

Participants are encouraged to adjust their plans accordingly and prepare for the new dates. The Olive Convention Centre is set to provide a fitting alternative venue, ensuring that My Beauty Expo 2024 remains a crucial meeting point for the global beauty community.

For further details or inquiries about the new arrangements, participants are advised to contact the event organizers directly.
