Lusaka, Zambia – Residents of Munali Constituency in Lusaka yesterday gained a deeper understanding of their rights and how to hold leaders accountable, thanks to a community engagement initiative. The event, hosted by the Alliance for Accountability Advocates Zambia, brought together youths, community leaders, and government officials to demystify complex laws.
Participants delved into the intricacies of the Anti-Corruption Act, the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Act, and the Local Government Act with support from legal experts. The aim was to equip community members with the knowledge to participate effectively in governance.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of a toll-free line for accessing information about CDF. This innovative platform, accessible on the MTN network by dialing 667, empowers citizens to track and understand how public funds are utilized within their communities.

By simplifying complex legal jargon and providing accessible information channels, the Alliance for Accountability Advocates Zambia is taking strides to foster a more transparent and accountable society.
The organization expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in making the event a success, reaffirming its commitment to community empowerment.
