Burundi’s President Évariste Ndayishimiye is set to visit Zambia from August 1 to 3, 2024, at the invitation of Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema. The state visit will focus on strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations through key discussions and agreements.
The visit will feature bilateral talks between Presidents Ndayishimiye and Hichilema on topics such as commerce, trade, agriculture, and social protection. Memoranda of Understanding will be signed to enhance cooperation in these areas. On August 2, President Ndayishimiye will address the Zambian National Assembly, and on August 3, he will attend the 96th Lusaka Agricultural and Commercial Show as the Guest of Honour.
The two countries enjoy a long-standing partnership, supported by shared values and mutual interests. Their cooperation spans regional and international platforms, including the United Nations and the African Union. This visit represents a key opportunity to advance their collaborative efforts and development goals.
President Ndayishimiye will conclude his visit to Zambia on August 3, 2024.
