Lubango – A Mozambican tourism promoter has heaped praise on the natural beauty and warm hospitality of central Huila province. Sameerah Raman, 32, expressed her delight after a two-day visit to Humpata and Lubango municipalities.
Raman told ANGOP on Thursday that her interactions with local communities provided invaluable insights into their culture, history, and traditions. She drew parallels between Huila and Mozambique, expressing surprise at the province’s stunning landscapes and friendly people.
“I feel more like a relative than a tourist,” she said, emphasizing the welcoming atmosphere she encountered. With a wealth of travel experience spanning South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, the United Arab Emirates, France, Switzerland, Brazil, and Angola, Raman’s appreciation for Huila’s charm is particularly noteworthy.
During her stay, Raman explored iconic sites such as the Tundavala Rift, Huila waterfalls, Cristo Rei, Huila Regional Museum, and Ondimba cave. She also immersed herself in local life by staying in a village, where she learned traditional dance and cooking.
Raman, who serves as the face of the Tac Tour for the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) and English-speaking African nations, is committed to promoting cultural exchange between Angola and Mozambique. Since November 2021, at least 247 tourists have participated in the “Tourist Triangle” initiative, which encompasses Luanda, Huila, and Namibe provinces.
