Lagos, Nigeria – Afrobeats megastar Davido has been named the new brand ambassador for GAC Motor, a leading Chinese automobile manufacturer. The announcement was made at a ceremony in Lagos on July 22nd, solidifying a growing partnership between the artist and the car company.

This collaboration comes just weeks after CIG Motors, GAC’s official representative in Nigeria, presented Davido and his wife with a brand new GAC M8 2024 MPV as a wedding gift. CIG Motors, established in 2014, oversees GAC’s distribution network across Nigeria.

As brand ambassador, Davido will play a key role in boosting GAC Motor’s visibility not only in Nigeria but throughout Africa. He joins comedian and singer Nasboi, who became a GAC ambassador in June.

“I’m incredibly excited about the plans we have in store,” Davido said at the Lagos event. “This is a big deal, and I have no doubt that we’ll be back here soon celebrating the success of this partnership.”

Davido also expressed his enthusiasm for GAC’s upcoming youth initiatives, highlighting his belief that he’s the perfect person to represent them.

This latest deal adds to Davido’s already impressive portfolio of brand partnerships, including collaborations with smartphone giant Infinix and gaming platform 1XBET.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Lagos State Government announced a new partnership with CIG Motors last week. IBILE Holdings Limited, an arm of the Lagos State Government, has invested $260 million to acquire 5,000 new GAC vehicles for the LAGRIDE fleet. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu hailed the agreement as a “transportation solution that will cater to the needs of all Lagosians, ensuring safe and comfortable commutes within the city.”
