Lesotho’s Finance Minister, Dr. Retselisitsoe Matlanyane, recently participated in the second High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development, held in Beijing from July 11th to 13th, 2024.
The conference served as a platform for senior officials and academics from over 110 countries and 30 international organizations to discuss shared development strategies. Dr. Matlanyane played a key role, using the opportunity to advocate for crucial support for Lesotho’s development projects.
During the conference, Dr. Matlanyane met with Mr. Luo Zhaohui, Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA). The meeting focused on Lesotho’s development needs, with Dr. Matlanyane requesting CIDCA’s assistance in several key areas. These included infrastructure development, energy solutions, smart agriculture initiatives, tourism development, and human development projects.
