Mbabane, Eswatini – The U.S. Embassy in Eswatini hosted a celebratory event on July 3rd, 2024, marking the 248th anniversary of American independence.

The event, attended by Prince Lindani, representing His Majesty King Mswati III, Eswatini government ministers, dignitaries, and local partners, fostered a spirit of unity and collaboration.

Chargé d’Affaires Caitlin Piper delivered a powerful message, highlighting the importance of a strong U.S.-Africa partnership. She emphasized that achieving global goals, from economic growth to climate change solutions, requires the leadership and innovation of African nations.

Piper pointed out Africa’s youthful population, with over half projected to be under 25 by 2025. This demographic shift, she stated, positions Africa as a key player in shaping the future, not just for the continent, but for the entire world.

The Chargé d’Affaires reiterated the U.S. commitment to partnering with Eswatini to create an environment where citizens can thrive. This partnership, she explained, aims to empower Eswatini’s people with opportunities to learn, lead, and contribute to their communities, ultimately fulfilling their aspirations.
