Zambia’s Ambassador to Italy, Patricia Chisanga Kondolo, presented her Letters of Credence to Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, reaffirming Zambia’s commitment to strengthening relations with Croatia. Kondolo conveyed warm greetings from Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema to the Croatian government and its people.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Kondolo highlighted the robust relations between Zambia and Croatia, underscoring the need for enhanced economic cooperation. She emphasized that such collaboration is crucial for Zambia’s development agenda, aimed at improving the livelihood of its citizens.

Addressing challenges posed by climate change, which has led to drought and subsequent food and energy insecurity in Zambia, Kondolo expressed the government’s commitment to investing in renewable energy, agri-business, processing, tourism, and manufacturing. She stated Zambia’s readiness to partner with both the Croatian government and the private sector in these key areas.

Kondolo also noted the potential for increased collaboration through their joint membership in the United Nations, highlighting opportunities for mutual support on climate change, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and backing each other’s candidacies for various UN positions.

He praised Zambia for its unity in cultural diversity, which he said is essential for fostering international understanding.
