London, UK – Her Excellency Ms. Macenje Mazoka, Zambia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, has been appointed to the Commonwealth’s Executive Committee (ExCo) for a one-year term starting July 1st, 2024.
The Commonwealth Board of Governors confirmed Ms. Mazoka’s nomination, filling the vacancy created by the expiration of Ghana’s term.
The ExCo is a critical committee that convenes quarterly to review reports from the Secretary-General’s office regarding individual fund operations, oversee budgeting and auditing functions, and address any other matters referred to them by the Board.
Significantly, the ExCo also holds the authority to consider issues it deems important for the Board’s progress during the intervals between meetings. It can then provide recommendations and advice to the Board of Governors.
